Dear Colleagues,

You are cordially invited to take part in the regular International conference "Problems of Geocosmos" which will be held in St. Petersburg during September 20-24, 2010. If you plan to participate in the conference, please send us before April 02, 2010 via e-mail geocosm@geo.phys.spbu.ru the preliminary title of your talk with your name and institution (later both the title and the list of authors may be changed for abstract online submission). We need this information to prepare an application for conference support from Russian Foundation for Basic Research.

The online registration and abstract submission will be opened after February 01, 2010. Abstract submission deadline is June 15, 2010.

If you need visa, please contact us before April 15, 2010, because we should start the process of preparing invitation rather early.

Section SEMP: Seismic-electromagnetic phenomena (Electromagnetic phenomena related to earthquakes (EQ) and other natural hazards (NH)) including:
  • Satellite and ground observations (in different frequency ranges) of electromagnetic anomalies, possibly related to EQ and other NH
  • Extraction of the EQ-NH precursory signatures from electromagnetic time series - development of mathematical methods of data processing
  • Modeling of seismic-electromagnetic processes
  • Theory of the EQ-NH precursors

Conference will be organized at the Institute of Physics, University of St.Petersburg in Peterhof (35 km from St. Petersburg). Accommodation will be available at the University hotel, which is located in 10 minutes walking distance from the conference site.

Official Language of the Conference is English.

One half-day sightseeing tour will be arranged for the Conference participants and accompanying persons. The details are being discussed; please let us know if you have any suggestions - your wishes will have the decisive role.
